Now this is old school...got it.

This is Battletech the way it used to be, a hex map, rule book and a sheet for your 40' tall killin' machine.

This set, by Catalyst games, includes very simple quick start rules, the Introductory Rule Book, The Inner Sphere at a Glance setting book, 2 poster sized hex maps, a book of 32 Mech sheets, two dice, and 24 plastic mini Battle-Techs.

The minis are nicely detailed and look great, and the rules are laid out in a very easy to read format.

If your a fan of Battletech, check this set out.

I'm curious, did they use the original robots (I'm assuming not, due to licensing)?

Neither the Rifleman (RDF-Fighter) nor the Locust are in this set, but you can get the stats and minis elsewhere.
